CENTO

Music Career

Alessandro "Cento" Caldarola began his career in 2012 by composing his first D&B and Trance tracks, the genres he was most interested in at the time. A strange turn of events dragged him into the Synthwave world and he loved both its sounds and aesthetics. It felt like home. "The Midnight Takeover" was his first published Synthwave track, initially born as an experiment, like the rest of the tracks of the EP "Sinner's Road"; a collection of all his Synthwave works. In 2019 - while studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Sound Engineering - he went full circle, coming back to his origins and producing more EDM sounds. "I Expected Summer W*F Is This" (released in summer 2020) is a perfect example. Nowadays, Cento's orbiting around all of these genres, working on some fresh new projects that are going to see a release soon enough.

Influences

Cento's style has seen quite some influences from the sound panorama throughout its evolution. Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Kavinsky, Lazerhawk and a lot of '80s music have played a huge part in Cento's composing flow. For more unique and atmospheric melodies, he also listened to artists such as Deadmau5, The Prodigy, Pendulum. Looking for funky rythms and harmonies, he couldn't avoid names like TheFatRat, PrototypeRaptor, Nitro Fun. And last but not least, Tokyo Machine, MUZZ and Stonebank for their strong and persistent energy. Naturally, the list keeps going on and on, but these names hold the most weight in Cento's background.
